Mentorship Program

The Program is designed to:

• Help senior students develop their networking and communication skills and professional best practices.
• Give senior students an opportunity to seek advice and learn from the experiences of alumnae as they prepare for college and their future careers.
• Promote Lifelong Sisterhood by creating bonds between alumnae and current students.

In working with Gwynedd’s Advancement Office and Leadership Program Coordinator, a Mentor is asked to:

• Complete a Gwynedd Force profile with all applicable information to be paired with a mentee.
• Attend a virtual orientation at the beginning of the mentorship term to learn the guidelines for interacting with students.
• Connect with her mentee, either virtually or in person, for 30-60 minutes at least four times during the mentorship term (August-May). Mentors may sign up to be paired with more than one mentee.
• Share information about how Gwynedd prepared them for college and their career, including advice about navigating college and pursuing internships and other career opportunities.
• Review their mentee’s resume and provide feedback about how to improve it.
• Quarterly, submit a brief program survey after each meeting.
• Attend a program celebration event in October to gather as a group with other mentors and mentees (if you are local and able to attend). 

Mentees asked to plan each meeting with their mentors, send calendar invitations and reminders, and come to each meeting prepared with questions and topics to discuss. They will also share their resumes for review and feedback. Quarterly, mentees will submit a brief program survey after each meeting. Mentees also will reflect on their experience and share their learnings at the end of their senior year.

Mentors are supported by the Director of Alumnae Engagement Erin Reimel Clements '12, Gwynedd Force Coordinator Caitlin Fitzgerald Straub '01, and Leadership Program Coordinator Jennifer Cervone Guarnaccia '93 P'22, '25. Mentors will receive the following at the beginning of their time as a mentor:

• Information about the mentee they are paired with
• Guidelines for what to cover in mentorship meetings and how to appropriately communicate with mentees
• Access to the Gwynedd Force platform to connect with students
