A Place to Soar, our seven million dollar campaign for a new Monarch wing, upholds the aspirations of our founders, the Sisters of Mercy, and fulfills strategic and essential facility needs for the benefit of all current and future students. It's also our first major capital campaign in 20 years! 

Our building, constructed in 1955, needs to evolve to keep pace with our "She is the Future" strategic plan innovations in teaching and learning and accommodate the 21st century needs of our largest student body (440) and faculty and staff (90) in Gwynedd Mercy's history. The School’s greatest need is for larger capacity, multi-purpose, flexible community and learning space and a larger counseling center to capitalize on our new academic schedule, new wellness curriculum, and enhanced School and College Counseling Programs for the benefit of all students.

Thanks to a number of impactful gifts and pledges from trustees, alumnae, and current and past parents, foundations, and friends, Gwynedd Mercy was able to break ground on September 10, 2023 with 70% of our goal committed. Construction is set to begin in fall 2023 and to be completed in January 2025.

Now, we invite all members of the Gwynedd Mercy community — alumnae, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends — to participate and help ensure a successful campaign for the School. Every dollar committed will make a difference and, together, we will provide the funds needed for this transformative project and elevate Gwynedd Mercy and our Monarch to new heights.

Mercy Legacy Walk Sponsorships: Be a part of this special tribute to the Sisters of Mercy. A plaque celebrating sponsors by level will be installed near the Mercy Legacy Walk. Click on the tab below for more information on the Walk and sponsorship levels, which begin at $25,000. You are welcome to make an outright gift and/or a pledge payable over one to five years. Matching gifts also count toward sponsorship levels.

Donor Wall Recognition: All donors of $5,000 or more will be recognized for their support on a donor recognition wall to be installed just inside the entrance to the new Community Commons. You are welcome to make an outright gift and/or a pledge payable over one to five years. Matching gifts also count toward recognition.

Engraved Courtyard Brick: Reserve a 4 x 8 inch brick for $1,000 or a 8 x 8 inch brick for $2,500.

Monarch Mosaic: Become part of our new art installation celebrating our mascot, the monarch butterfly. The Monarch Mosaic will be made of up to 1,000 photos, each measuring 2 x 2 inches, celebrating the members of our community. You can submit one or more photos of yourself, your daughter(s), your classmate(s), your family, and/or your teacher(s), and a brief caption or story. Using a wall mounted iPad, viewers will be able to search for, zoom in, and read about each photo. Reserve one photo for $250 or three for $500.

Since founding Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in 1861, the Sisters of Mercy have been the pillars, architects, and dedicated caretakers of our beloved school. To honor their legacy, we introduce the Mercy Legacy Walk as part of our new wing. Along this walk guiding visitors to the new Community Commons, Gwynedd Mercy will illuminate the Core Values of Mercy Education — Compelled by Mercy, Educational Courage, Inspired by Faith, Principled Leadership, and A Voice for Dignity and Respect. We will also celebrate each Sister of Mercy who has served or graduated from our beloved Academy with an engraved brick, securing her enduring legacy at the School.
